3-Day Cruise to Bahamas

This will be a joint cruise with Celeste's group! Hope you can join us! There is still space available if you would like to attend; however, we are now at the point where you will have to pay the entire amount very close to booking time... Please contact Bonnie Salas at First Class Travel [masked]) for more details. Prices start at $350 per person, but the rate is going up every day...so call soon to get the best price! Say hello to beautiful sunsets, private Caribbean beaches and 3-days/4-nights of fun and wonderful memories! Let's go on a cruise to the Bahamas and Coco Cay! On a cruise, you can do as much or as little as you want to do. The great thing about a cruise vacation is that it is YOUR choice just unpack once and enjoy the ride! The Monarch of the Seas is a terrific mid-sized ship that is part of the prestigious Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Among its highlights are themed bars and lounges, a sushi bar & Asian fusion restaurant, two outdoor pools, two huge whirlpools, full service over-sized spa, state of the art fitness center, basketball court, and amazing Rock Climbing wall. Royal Caribbean also has "Adventure Ocean", a youth program -- kids have their own parts of the deck (no adults!). This is an inexpensive but fun-filled trip. The week of Sept 20 is a week off for Cherokee Co. schools, so between that and beautiful late September weather, we thought it would be the perfect time to go! On our cruise, we'll have singles, couples, and families. Our trip: September 20 24, 2010 Day One we arrive to Port Canaveral and board our ship. A wonderful buffet lunch is served in the Windjammer Caf on the top deck and this is usually the first stop. Then stroll down each deck looking at the gorgeous ship that we will be on for the next 4 days! We will have a lifeboat drill before we leave port a serious time even though everyone looks silly wearing their orange life vests. We enjoy the Sail-A-Way parties that they host and get acquainted with our first dinner in the dining room on board. After dinner, there will be a Welcome Aboard show in their Showroom. Late night activities could include gambling at the casino, dancing in the nightclubs on board, enjoying a drink at Boleros Latin Bar, nighttime whirlpool relaxation, and more. Day Two Our first port of call! Coco Cay is a private island in the Bahamas that is owned by Royal Caribbean. It is a pristine paradise! Beautiful beaches, great water, activities galore! Today you can do as much or as little as you want. You can do tons of free activities just lounging at the beach and swimming in the ocean. If you bring your own snorkel gear, then you can snorkel and see their great fish and reefs. If you wish to pay an optional fee, you can do tours or activities like: snorkeling, kayaking, parasail, waverunners, and more. They will serve a BBQ style lunch out on the island (or you can eat in the dining rooms on board if want to go there). Back on board for dinner and evening activities. Tonight in the Showroom will be either a guest entertainer (like comedian, magician, or musical act) or it will be a Broadway style show. Day Three Nassau, Bahamas. You can either stroll around Nassau and shop at the famed Straw Market and its assorted downtown shopsand then maybe hit a nearby beach for a few hours. More adventurous members may want to book a tour with the cruise line to swim with dolphins, ride in a glass-bottom boat through Blue Lagoon, or do an actual race aboard Americas Cup yachts. Others might want to take a taxi over to Paradise Island, where you can tour the Atlantis Hotel and Resort and enjoy their beach. There are tons of tour activities that can be done this day, either with the cruise line or independently. Back on board for dinner and evening activities. Day Four At Sea Day. Today we have no place to go..we are just sailing back towards Florida. The ship will have tons of activities all day long the Mens Bellyflop contest is a highlight. We can play trivia, sit by the pool, read a book in one of the lounges, gamble in the casinoyour choice. We will plan a few activities for TCCSAG for this day, too, so that we can do some fun things together (like a rock-climbing contest or a scavenger hunt). Tonight we have to pack, because in the morning, we are off of the ship and headed back to Atlanta! Questions: Will there be planned Meetup group activities on-board/in-port? It will be nice to do things together as a group, but because cruises offer so many different options every single day, we dont want to stop anyone from those activites that you think will be most fun. It would be great if we could all sit together at dinner each evening (something our travel agent can pre-arrange for us). We can have a breakfast meetup every morning to talk about what activities we might want to do as a group. I hear cruises are all about food is that true? Will I break my diet? Yes, there are a lot of places to eatbut it is only as extreme as you want it to be. You can eat every hour of the 24 hour time-clock. There is a lot of good food on-board it is AMAZING! But, if you are on a diet, you can stick to that as well. The food is great elaborate things, too not just hot dogs and burgers! If your mind can dream it up, it is probably on the ship to eat. From steak and fish to pasta and sandwiches, fresh soups & salads, sushi, and moretons of food choices! What to expect the motion of the ocean As we are sailing, there will be a slight rocking, but it should not be anything crazy. The ship has stabilizers that are out when we sail, to make the motion of the ocean a little less. You can take Dramamine tablets twice a day if you need them. PLease call for current pricing, specials and availability. We do still have rooms available that are part of our group rate. 3rd/4th rates may be available. Other stateroom options available at an additional cost, please call for pricing. Deposits are $100 per person or $200 per cabin. Note that staterooms are not mega-sized since this is an older ship. They have two twin beds that can be converted to a double bed. Each room has a separate closet, a small dresser area, and a separate bathroom (with sink, toilet, and shower). There is a phone, TV (with regular TV channels, movie channels, and PPV movies). Rooms have internet access for a charge. What costs are not included in the price? Travel to Port Canaveral is not included. You can fly to Orlando and then take a shuttle (around $85) to get to the Port. Or you can drive to the Port and park in their lots (around $15 a day). Travel Insurance: if you want to purchase travel insurance you can do that with a travel agent. It covers reimbursement should a medical situation develop or some other event that could cause you to have to cancel your trip. Alcoholic drinks and sodas on-board: there are packages that you can purchase to make these cheaper, rather than buying them each time you want one. Soda packages are roughly $7 a day for unlimited fountain sodas and it usually includes a souvenir thermos bottle. There are wine packages for dinner as well. Internet access on board (you can purchase minutes for this) Tips: It is requested that the last night of the cruise you tip the service personnel who were with you while you were on-board. These include your Cabin Steward, Dining room waiter and assistant waiter (and matreD if you feel obliged). They have a recommended amount, but it is your choice to tip per service. Passport although a passport is not required, it is suggested. It is fine to not have one, but if the worst scenario happens and you do not make it back to the ship before it leaves Nassau, then you are stuck without having a passport! How do I sign up? Where can I get more information? There is a deposit of $100 per person (or $200 per cabin) to hold your stateroom. [b] Bonnie Salas at First Class Travel has already reserved space for our group.
