Beecher Hills Elementary School Reviews

I have two daughters in the 2nd grade at beecher. They have been there since pre-k. The teachers are very caring, knowledgeable, understanding and dedicated. The staff really believes in making all children reach their fullest potential. I highly recommend beecher. Get on board the beecher success express!

I'm a grandparent who picks up 2 grand kids each school day. My experience with the staff is a group of dedicated and committed teachers concerned with the total child. Focus on learning is a top priority but the kids are not treated like robots, there is a human connection with the teachers and their students. The principal and her staff are equally committed. I don't think I've ever seen a school day that I didn't witness a child receiving a hug or word of encouragement from some staff member. More computers and more parental involvement would make this school even better.

Beecher is a wonderful school. My daughter graduated from 5th grade with wonderful awards. She had 3 teachers: mr.Akins,mrs.Tolliver,and mrs.Humphries. They prepared her for probably the next 3 grades! i would totally recommend beecher hills

Beecher Hills Elementary School is the best. I love the staff. My daughter is a 1st grader in Mrs.Long class. Mrs. Long is the best teacher along with Ms. Mayfield. They are great teachers! They really teach the children. I would recommend this school to anyone.

This is an excellent school with a dedicated principal and staff. The students beginning in 3rd grade move to their teachers like in Junior High and have a math teacher, a different language arts teacher, Spanish, social studies, music, art, and PE teachers. There is a strings and band program. In addition, there are dance and cheer leading groups. Much more cultural and sports activities take place at this special school. Although the work load is great and challenging, it pays off at the end because the students learn so much from the course content, teaching quality and hands on, project based learning. It's a lot of work to study, complete projects, take exams and more from the academic core, but the children become prepared, competitive academically and socially. My children are straight A students and many children exceed the state CRCTS. Minimal disciplinary problems. I Highly recommended Beecher.

As a volunteer reader this year, I have been very dissapointed in the lack of interest and respect the five of us have gotten from the school administration. There were at least 4 occasions when we showed up on our appointed day and time only to find out that the children were not available to listen to stories. We had checked in advance to make sure the times were available through the principal. He reassured us the days and times were good. When we arrived for our last reading of the school year, there was an awards program going on which even acknowledeged volunteers but not our group and of course we did not get to read to the children again. This occurring once or even twice might have been understandable but after that the staff should have put us on their calendar and notified us when to stay home.

I could not be more pleased with the education provided at Beecher Hills. My Kindergartener is reading, telling time, and learning the greater than/ less than value of numbers. The only complaint that I have is the behavior of the children. Most children learn the material and apply what they learn on everyday basics, but teachers are limited in how they can discipline a child. Teachers cannot raise their voices and they cannot spank children with rulers. The teachers just put the children in time out or send them to the principals office and frankly, that s not enough. We as parents need to realize that training and the foundation of productive students start at home, not when the child starts school.
